‘Get To Know’ MPS Superintendent Brenda Cassellius at ̽Ƶ Law School, Sept. 10

MILWAUKEE — Brenda Cassellius, superintendent of Milwaukee Public Schools, will be the special guest for the next installment of the ̽Ƶ Law School Lubar Center for Public Policy Research and Civic Education’s “Get To Know” program series on Wednesday, Sept. 10, at 12:15 p.m. at Eckstein Hall, 1215 W. Michigan St.
Derek Mosley, director of the Lubar Center, hosts the “Get To Know” series, which is styled as “more late-night talk show than ‘Meet the Press.’” Registration is for this free public event. Media wishing to attend should contact Kevin Conway at kevin.m.conway@marquette.edu.
Cassellius took over as superintendent of MPS in March 2025. During her 30 years as an educator, she has worked in many roles and districts, most recently as superintendent of Boston Public Schools. She will discuss her background, how she tackles her priorities, and what she plans to achieve in her work on the many challenges and opportunities facing MPS.
Mosley has served as Lubar Center for Public Policy Research and Civic Education director since 2023. Under his leadership, the Law School’s Lubar Center has expanded its programming to include sessions during Black History Month and on unconscious bias, as well as Heritage Dinners in the community. A 1995 graduate of ̽Ƶ Law School, Mosley served as a judge of the Milwaukee Municipal Court for 20 years.
Through public programming such as the ̽Ƶ Law School Poll, “On the Issues” conversations with newsmakers, public lectures by leading scholars, conferences on issues of public significance, and the work of its Lubar Center for Public Policy Research and Civic Education, ̽Ƶ Law School seeks to advance civil discourse about law and public policy matters.
