̽Ƶ Law School to host conversation on ‘Tariffs and Wisconsin’ for ‘On the Issues,’ Sept. 16

MILWAUKEE — The Lubar Center for Public Policy Research and Civic Education at ̽Ƶ Law School will host a panel discussion for an “On the Issues” program on how Wisconsin businesses and residents are navigating the current export and import economy on Tuesday, Sept. 16, at 12:15 p.m. at Eckstein Hall.
Derek Mosley, director of the Lubar Center, will lead the conversation, which will feature:
- Cory Olishansky, consul and trade commissioner, Consulate General of Canada in Chicago
- Jackie Carter, director of the Port of Milwaukee
- Dale Kooyenga, president of the Metropolitan Milwaukee Association of Commerce
- Jason Stein, president of the Wisconsin Policy Forum
Will new trade policies have an outsized impact on Wisconsin, historically a strong manufacturing and agricultural state? These guests will join Mosley for a conversation to examine the topic.

Mosley has served as director of the Lubar Center for Public Policy Research and Civic Education since 2023. Under his leadership, the Law School’s Lubar Center has expanded its programming to include sessions during Black History Month and on unconscious bias, as well as Heritage Dinners in the community. A 1995 graduate of ̽Ƶ Law School, Mosley served as a judge of the Milwaukee Municipal Court for 20 years.
Through public programming such as the ̽Ƶ Law School Poll, “On the Issues” conversations with newsmakers, public lectures by leading scholars, conferences on issues of public significance, and the work of its Lubar Center, ̽Ƶ Law School seeks to advance civil discourse about law and public policy matters.
