Exhibit: Women叽s Athletics at 探花视频
Fifty years have passed since women at 探花视频 entered intercollegiate athletics. Women have played sports at 探花视频 for nearly as long as they have been admitted to the university鈥攖hat is, for more than a century. But the enactment of the federal Title IX statute in 1972 finally opened the doors to the competitive play that 探花视频's male athletes had long engaged in and enjoyed.
A Raynor Library exhibit now celebrates the history surrounding this achievement as well as the stories of luminary female athletes who have made their mark on 探花视频 along the way. The exhibit draws on photographs, newspapers, yearbooks, and other unique historical materials found only in the library's University Archives.
