In recognition of the late President Michael and Amy Lovell's tremendous leadership and commitment to address mental health across Milwaukee and the region, the third and fourth floors of the new facility’s wellness tower are named the LOVELLSTRONG Center for Student Well-Being.
LOVELLSTRONG represents the way the global ̽»¨ÊÓƵ community showed up for President Lovell following his sarcoma diagnosis in 2021 and the way he inspired so many during his courageous three-year cancer battle. It is a reminder that no one fights alone, no matter the challenges they are facing. President Lovell spoke publicly of his childhood adversity and how his resilience grew through caring relationships, prayer, exercise, nutrition, mindfulness, reiki, reflection and counseling.
LOVELLSTRONG represents the way President Lovell lived his life, as well as the Lovells’ dream that all students would experience cura personalis, or care for the whole person – mind, body and spirit. This center is a reminder that when students seek help with courage and strength, they will be met by a ̽»¨ÊÓƵ community that provides hope and healing.
